Description

Our client is looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to join their great team in Auckland. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and fostering a culture of collaboration. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Position Overview:
This organisation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and supporting audit processes. The ideal candidate is highly organised, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and assist with audit preparations.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and analysis as needed.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
Strong understanding of NZ IFRS and financial accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
