Financial Accountant The Wine Portfolio location Bay of Plenty.

Leveret and Mills Reef Winery Leveret and Mills Reef one of New Zealand’s leading wineries is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented financial accountant to join our team based in Katikati in the Bay of Plenty. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial and management accounts, managing the day-to-day accounting functions and supervising accounting staff.

To be successful in this role you should have a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting standards, experience in financial analysis and forecasting and strong communication and collaboration skills. In addition you should be experienced in Xero and Accpac accounting systems.

Responsibilities maintain company financial records using Xero, Smartly, Lightspeed and Vinsight software systems. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that comply with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Monitor data capture to ensure that financial policies are being adhered to including supervision and accounting staff. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements including cashflow, income and financial position statements together with monthly budget actual comparisons.

Requirements a degree in Accounting or Commerce and Membership of New Zealand Society of Accountants. At least 5 years accounting experience in a public accounting practice or corporate environment. A strong desire to provide managers with systems and data to assist them in their roles.
