Finance Support Officer New Zealand Police location Wellington.

About the role the purpose of the Finance Group is to enable us to deliver Our Business within budget. Within the Shared Service team, which provides financial support services nationally to NZ Police, there are four main functions of the role Accounts Processing, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Travel. The main purpose of the role is providing efficient and effective payment processing, creditor invoicing along with resolving creditor queries.

The Finance Support Officer ensures that Police adhere to Finance Policy, performance standards and accounting rules. The role may also involve providing end to end UAT acceptance testing when required as our systems are up graded. Shared Services is a very proactive team and being able to contribute to continuous improvement to meet operation requirements is a a great asset.

Key accountabilities resolving creditor/debtor and invoice queries. Creditor/debtor statement reconciliation and reporting. Accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Resolution of queries and investigative problem solving.

We're looking for a motivated individual with a strong attention to detail and methodical way of working.  You will need to converse with staff from all aspects of the organization so clear and concise communications is a must.  Knowledge of foundations in accounts is required and experience with SAP is would be ideal however similar large computer systems will mean you bring transferrable skills. This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.
