We’re now seeking a Finance Process Excellence Manager to lead the evolution of our Finance Transaction Services function, driving transformation, strengthening controls, and building a high-performing, engaged team that delivers excellence at scale.
About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy CFO, this is a senior leadership role with accountability for the Accounts Payable, Revenue & Receivables, and Client Admissions & Administration teams.
You will shape the future of finance operations at Uniting, translating strategy into streamlined, robust, and efficient financial processes that support our clients, funding bodies, and suppliers.
This role combines enterprise leadership, people leadership, and process excellence, and is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity, leads through influence, and enjoys building capability while delivering results.
Key Responsibilities
As Finance Process Excellence Manager, you will:
Define priorities, outcomes, and performance measures across Finance Transaction Services
Lead multiple teams to deliver accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial processes
Translate corporate and finance strategy into practical, scalable operational plans
Champion process standardisation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Lead finance transformation initiatives, including service stream and cross-finance projects
Strengthen governance, controls, and fraud prevention aligned to legislative and regulatory requirements
Influence and provide indirect leadership over finance systems impacting transactions
Break down complex problems and implement pragmatic, sustainable solutions
Build a high-performing culture through coaching, development, and clear accountability
Act as a positive role model, collaborating productively across Finance and the wider organisation
Promote safe, inclusive, and respectful workplaces consistent with Uniting’s values and WH&S obligations
About You
You are a strategic, values-driven finance leader who brings clarity, structure, and momentum to complex environments.
You will bring:
Strong experience leading multi-disciplinary finance operations in large, complex organisations
A passion for process excellence, transformation, and service improvement
A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to influence without direct authority

Some intracity travel will be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business
CPA or CA qualification
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a large, complex organisation
Highly Regarded
Process excellence qualifications (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
Project management certification (PRINCE2 or similar)
Experience leading business service improvement and change programs
Even better
Experience within a human services or not-for-profit environment
