Job summary a newly developed role of Finance Officer was added to our Finance Team. In this role you will work under the direction of the Senior Finance Officer and the Financial Controller. The primary objective of this role is to conduct the transactional finance functions of the Corporation. This role is based at the Ballarat office. Occasional travel to the Geelong office may be required.

About Us Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) is a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (Vic) and was established in 1998. WTOAC is governed by a Board of Directors of Traditional Owners.

Each Director represents a Family Group of the Wadawurrung People. Its role is to protect and advance the aspirations of Wadawurrung People by managing their cultural heritage rights and interests, as well as supporting them in the achievement of the goals and aspirations as outlined in the Wadawurrung Country Plan.

Main responsibilities provide support to the Financial Controller and assist in managing the flow of financial information, including maintenance of financial systems as directed. Set up quotes and invoices & liaise with customers regarding payments and collection transactions.

Create purchase orders and creditor payments in conjunction with external accountants. Reconcile bank accounts to general ledger accounts and support month end process. Assist with financial analysis and inventory accounts.

Key Selection Criteria of role completion of an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Demonstrated high level of organisational, problem solving, and administrative skills.

Demonstrated skills and experience in finance and accounting, including the ability to manage financial procedures in general ledger management, debtor & creditor management, and credit/debit card expense reconciliation.

Accuracy in data entry, text and figures, using a variety of software, such as Xero, email, databases and the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Experience in working with an Indigenous organisation (desirable).
