Finance Officer (Part-Time), location Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre. Hours 10 hours per week. Hours of Work Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (with some flexibility to alter hours to suit the successful candidate). Application Deadline Sunday, 15th September 2024, 11:59 pm

Position overview due to the impending retirement of our current Finance Officer, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This part-time role is crucial to the financial management of our small but dynamic community organisation. As Finance Officer, you will work closely with our Centre Manager and Board Treasurer, contributing to the financial management and sustainability of our centre.

Key responsibilities manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Liaise with external auditors and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Collaborate with the Centre Manager and Board Treasurer on financial matters.

Eight weeks of annual leave (four weeks purchased leave), with five weeks over summer and the first week of each school holiday term break. A supportive and friendly work environment. Qualifications & skills proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role. Strong knowledge of financial management practices, including bookkeeping and payroll. Proficiency in accounting software (Reckon or Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
