About our business Rossiter Constructions is an Australian owned and operated company that has been operating for 27 years. We have built up a thriving construction business that needs to be supported by an additional staff member.

We are looking for an energetic team player who is wanting to join a growing and dynamic business. We are a very collaborative team, with an approachable General Manger and Directors who are open to new ideas and ways of doing things as we continue to grow as a business.

The role this Experienced Finance Officer role is very hands on. While you do get involved in the higher-level work, you are  working on the transactional (day to day) and month end tasks that lead to this financial reporting & analysis.

Tasks will include general bookkeeping, data entry, accounts payable and accounts receivable processing weekly and monthly cycles. Manage the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including month-end and year-end financial delivery. Schedule and prepare payment batches for GM and CFO approval, ensuring timely payment of supplier invoices.

Liaise with Project Managers and Site Managers to collect and follow up on supporting documentation as required. Provide regular updates to the CFO and GM regarding outstanding supplier payments. Integrate the AP and AR processes into the financial forecasting process. Perform account and supplier reconciliations. Support the team with ad hoc financial tasks as needed.

Ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely completion of all accounting processes to ensure the business is profitable and compliant. Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate numbers for the director and stakeholder review.

Your background we are looking for an experienced finance/ bookkeeping professional from a smaller business background. You will be someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, really working on the accounting function autonomously to produce meaningful reports and commentary. In person you are approachable, friendly, and innovative. You are time effective, organised, have a sharp eye for detail with a can-do work ethic.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable is essential. Knowledge of Xero payment processes is preferred. Qualifications in Finance or Business Administration are preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Experience working in the construction industry would be advantageous but not essential.
