Finance Manager Wurf Resourcing location Sydney.

We are currently seeking a finance manager to join this high performing team. You will be a polished professional capable of wearing many hats to deliver outstanding accounting and financial solutions to the managing partners. You will provide a high level of professionalism to some of Australia’s most dynamic businesspeople.

You’ll be given the remit to take ownership across every division of the financial accounting function. This broad range of responsibilities will see you also have input into the direction of the business’ finance strategy.

You’ll partner with a collaborative Executive team to head up process improvement initiatives and be supported by like-minded colleagues who love what they do but know when to knuckle down. Although there is a high-performance focus, a work life balance is encouraged and supported from the top down.

Primary responsibilities ensuring appropriate financial governance, policies and procedures are put in place to ensure the integrity of the financial processes. Preparing timely and accurate operational financial reports. Managing all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Revenue Recognition. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.  Supporting month-end and year-end close process.

Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Developing and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal control. Gathering and analyse financial information to evaluate the company's performance with your demonstrated Excel / analytical skills.  Ensuring compliance with statutory authorities and assist with all external audit requirements. Identifying and managing commercial and financial risk within the business and advise on appropriate mitigation measures Managing and reconciling all statutory reporting obligations including BAS, PAYG, payroll taxes, insurances etc.

Required qualifications, skills and qualities tertiary qualifications in Accounting ideally with further business-related (Law/Business) studies, CA/CPA qualified or be currently completing, previous management experience of a project accounting team, Excellent computer skills specifically in excel and the Microsoft suite with further exposure to in-house finance systems, 6+ years of management/tax accounting experience post qualified, prior commercial experience implementing and driving business growth, change and process improvement, ability to drive outcomes in challenging and busy environments, can adapt and grow within an ever changing and fast-moving environment, previous experience in analysis and interpreting complex financial data.

Excellent communication skills CA/CPA qualified or near complete, you will bring your polished communication skills, commercial acumen and old-fashioned work ethic. You will enjoy working in a boutique environment where individual performances are recognised and valued.
