Perigon Group is thrilled to partner with an innovative and newly established energy company in recruitment search for a Finance Manager. This exciting opportunity is with a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to revitalising key energy assets and supporting Queensland’s energy transition.
About the organisation our client is a dynamic company formed to acquire and develop O&G Projects. With a vision to enhance gas fields, undertake gas processing, and potentially offer storage and other services, they are committed to providing a reliable gas supply for the Australian domestic market.

About the role the Finance Manager is newly created and will be operating in a stable but demanding environment that requires a motivated individual who can actively participate and contribute to a wide range of business issues.
This position is responsible for maintaining the company's financial management, treasury, corporate and asset models and reporting systems. The Finance Manager will have knowledge of ASIC practice notices and guidelines, the Corporations Act and Accounting Standards, as well as strong financial modelling skills, experience in a wide range of financial systems, and management of the accounting and finance team.
Key responsibilities financial management direct financial accounting functions including compliance, treasury, and transactional operations. Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts, manage financial reporting, and oversee statutory accounts.
Leadership exhibit strategic foresight, ensure accountability, and collaborate effectively with internal teams to drive vision and purpose. Foster a positive work environment by prioritising wellbeing and demonstrating integrity and authenticity.
System improvement enhance financial systems and procedures, implementing best practices to drive efficiency. Compliance ensure compliance with financial regulations and legislative requirements, including GST, payroll tax, and other necessary lodgements. Manage income tax returns and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
Qualifications and Skills Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, and Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA). Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role ideally gained in the Oil & Gas/Energy industries.
Hands-on technical accounting knowledge and experience. Strong commercial acumen and ability to effectively represent the organization. Proficient IT skills, particularly with ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite.
