Community First Step is seeking applications for the position of Financial Controller.  The purpose of this role is to manage the finances, investments and major projects of Community First Step (CFS) in order to ensure that resources are available to support the current operations and future growth of CFS and to develop and implement long and short-term strategies to meet the needs of CFS.

A key aim is to ensure the financial affairs of the CFS are managed in a thorough and professional manner – consistent with all relevant legislation and approved CFS policies. This is a full-time position based in Fairfield, NSW.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial functions of the CFS. Developing and administering long and short-term financial strategies. Identifying financial risks and implementing appropriate controls. Providing advice on financial viability of projects. Managing the Finance Team and its operations. Managing the FS budget process.

Administering insurance policies. Developing and maintaining procedures in the area of taxation law. Maintaining financial systems and processes. Providing monthly, annual and long-term management reports. Day-to-day processing of transactions. Administering accounts receivable and accounts payable systems.

Overseeing cash and cash investment programs. Administering the fixed assets register and monthly depreciation. Maintaining the lease register. Developing policies and procedures for management of financial functions. A full Position Description is available on request (email or phone).

You will have a tertiary qualification in accounting, business or a related discipline. A minimum of five years’ experience in a high-level financial management role demonstrated ability to successfully formulate and implement effective long and short-term financial strategies.

High-level financial analysis and modelling skills. A commitment to high quality client service in a complex environment. Ability to manage budget performance for all activities of the CFS. Membership of a relevant professional body (CPA or equivalent). Work with Children Check. National Police Check (within last 6 months).
