Finance and Administration Manager Vaka Tautua Limited location Auckland.
Vaka Tautua is a charitable organisation providing disability, mental health, older peoples programmes and other support services for Pacific people within New Zealand. Vaka Tautua’s mission is to grow the health and wellbeing of Pacific people in New Zealand. Following the recent appointment of a new CEO and significant growth of the activities, the organisation is looking to expand its management team to better meet the demands of this growing organisation to support Pacific Peoples, their families and the community.
Finance & Administration Manager (1 FTE) the Finance and Administration Manager is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the CEO, Board and wider organisation. The role will have responsibility for Budgeting, Financial management, Facilities management, IT and other relevant functions required to enable the organisation to deliver its mission and purpose.
Board reporting managing the administrative operations for the rest of the organisation the role also has the Manukau based Receptionist/Administrator and Pacific Insights Analyst as direct reports. This position requires the ability to think critically and offer system-based solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
The role leads the financial functions of the organisation which will require a broad understanding of financial systems and processes, costing methodologies and contracting. This role is expected to attend board meetings alongside the CEO to provide a comprehensive picture of the organisations financial health and address any issues that the board may have regarding financial matters.
The role will also work with the CEO and other managers in the preparation of board papers and providing support to the Chair is a key aspect of this position. Having confidence to actively participate in Board subcommittees such as the finance and audit subcommittee may also be required.
As a member of the Leadership Team you will be responsible for coordinating the budget setting process, and the establishment and oversight of the organisations financial management systems and processes. Working with other members of the leadership team you will also ensure data, IT and HR policies and procedures are followed, budgets are managed, and reports produced to a high standard.
This critical role also leads and takes responsibility for workplace Health and Safety (H&S) management, maintaining a H&S risk register, H&S reporting to the CEO and Board and chairing the organisations Health and Safety Committee.
This role is critical to the future successful functioning of Vaka Tautua, enabling the delivery of the organisations business allowing the CEO and other Senior Managers to work strategically with full confidence that the BAU operations of the organisation are being managed to a high standard. Qualifications in accountancy would be an advantage although business and/or financial qualification at a tertiary level will be needed to successfully deliver in this role.
