Finance and Admin Officer Drake International location Melbourne.

With operations across 130 sites in over 30 countries, this market leading organisation is at the forefront of environmental services and material processing. Due to a recent internal restructure, a great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant, who is accustomed to taking financial ownership and control of a small to medium sized business.

Reporting to the Financial Director, APAC, your primary objectives will be the financial and accounting activities for multiple operations across Australia as well as general administration for the local branch.

Key accountabilities provide timely and accurate financial information to the senior management team to allow effective decision making.

Financial reporting for Australia, including JDE, HFM and HP, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Australian and US GAAP accounting standards JDE Accounting entries for Site and SG&A. Payroll uploads from ADP source files. Sub-ledger interfaces (AP, AR, Inventory & Fixed Assets). JDE close & HFM upload and submission. EOM reporting to Division

Oversee country management accounting including monthly reporting, weekly and monthly forecasting and annual budgeting – Country HP, SG&A. Prepare & control balance sheet reconciliations through Blackline. Manage bank & treasury functions, including daily cash reviews, bank and loan transfers, bank administration, cash forecasting and bank reconciliations

Manage the Audit process & prepare the Statutory accounts. Manage Taxes - Income Tax, FBT, GST, tax effect accounting & reporting. Regulatory compliance, especially Workers compensation, payroll tax, superannuation and PAYG (Group Tax). Balance sheet management. Working capital management, namely debtors, payables and inventory. Transition & offshoring of tasks to Global Service Centre in India. Fixed Asset Management – Oversee through site and GSC. Manage payroll (external ADP), Accounts Receivable & Payable (GSC).

Requirement for the role 5 years + experience in a Finance role, with full financial ownership. Prior experience managing the Accounting function for multiple operations. Demonstrated hands on approach. Previous experience working in the industrial industry will be advantageous.
