About the role
We are looking for a Field Engineer to work on a casual basis and be based in our Sydney CBD office.
As a Field Engineer, you will support Construction Operations using technical material, installation manuals, training and assisting with technical queries. Ensure continuous improvement in field performance and developing talent.
Key responsibilities
Attend customer and service handover inspections on NE and Mod projects where required.
Training and developing adjusters, electricians, and apprentices, developing training material for electrical apprentices, electricians & adjusters.
Provide technical support to the construction operation and initiate changes as necessary for efficiency & quality improvement. This will include both office and site-based support.
Take ride quality PMT reading at end of each project, save in relevant project file. For modernisation project, PMT reading is required before and after modernization.
Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service / IQP inspection in coordination with PM/ Supervisor and field team.
Implement Field Instructions / CI / PUI, must change based on recommendations from factories in a timely manner.
Ensure relevant / latest manuals are available for adjusters & electricians on job site, maintaining backup of contract specific special software and non-Otis lifts in portfolio.
Review and approve any electrical modification required on site in line with Otis safety policy & procedure and relevant code requirements.
Responsible for the correct setting of all field-adjustable software parameters to ensure our end products meet customer specifications and to comply with local statutory requirements.
What you will need to be successful
Adjusting experience with full electrical registration in New South Wales
Extensive experience in the elevator industry.
A proven ability to be able to pass on information and skills through formal and informal training
Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to deal with and influence people at all level
Willing to travel.
