Covering an expansive geographical area which includes Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore as well as the Central Coast, CSBB is a system serving 44 Catholic Schools with around 17,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

The role as a member of the Fee Liaison team within the Financial Viability Workstream, reporting to the Fee Liaison Coordinator this role exists to collect outstanding fees/debts across CSBB and to reconcile debtor accounts. This role is a part time (3 days per week – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) temporary role concluding Wednesday 22 December 2021.

Key role responsibilities liaise with school staff and parents in the collection of debts and administration of payment arrangements. Apply at both school and family level the CSBB Fee Collection policy and procedures. Monitoring and follow-up collection of outstanding debts owed to schools and maintain records of outstanding debts.

Prepare and maintain correspondence and document any debt collecting activity undertaken for each debtor. Prepare reports in summary and detail formats outlining status of debts. Establish and maintain productive relationships with members of the Catholic education community.

Co-operate with and support other team members as they work to develop, implement and review policy, practices and procedures in the area of the Financial Viability consistent with the CSBB vision. Maintain the integrity of the Financial Viability Workstream processes. Liaise with school principals, school senior administration officers as and when required to ensure timely collection of fees from schools.

Liaise with and refer delinquent accounts to the collection agency in accordance with CSBB Fee Collection policy and procedures. Provide Finance Business Partners and Deputy Workstream Leads of Financial Viability with necessary reports on request. Maintain files for each debtor that are comprehensive and up to date at all times. Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including school staff and parents.

Present a personal image of welcome, warmth, openness and service. Demonstrated experience in debt collection will be highly regarded. Works with the customer in mind to serve their needs and requirements.

Is adaptive and responsive to change and can adapt to working under pressure and re-prioritising tasks. Significant experience handling a high degree of confidential and/or sensitive information. Excellent communication skills with a persuasive manner that is understanding of the financial predicaments faced by key stakeholders but at the same time be able to negotiate payments for outstanding debts where circumstances deem it appropriate.

Concise data entry skills. Understands emotions in self and others and adapts responses to bring the best out of the situation. Listens so that others feel understood, adapts communication to suit the issue/query and keeps everyone informed.
