Family Counsellor | Parenting Support Program | Sunshine Coast

Employment Term: Permanent Part-Time (60.8 hours per fortnight)

Location: Maroochydore

Remuneration: $51 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

The Parenting Support Program assists parents and carers to develop and strengthen their understanding and skills in the areas of parenting attachment, family relationship enhancement and children's behavioural management incorporating case planning.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a range of services for parents, carers and groups that are designed to enhance the parenting skills and family support of children and families, including referrals to other services as per case plans.

Promote the Parent Support Program throughout community networks and collaborate with major stakeholders, including schools and other community agencies.

Actively participate with case allocation, case consultation, community forums, internal and externa, meetings.

Facilitate educational workshops and community based seminars including developing resources and materials for use by the clients and community groups.

What makes a difference for us?
Tertiary qualifications in a human services or related field and demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through substantial experience in working with children and families

Current Drivers Licence

Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

sound knowledge of and demonstrated ability to utilise therapeutic processes and practices particularly in relation to children and families at risk.

Ability to work within frameworks and practices that are strength based and recovery focused.
