Factory Hand or Assistant to Print Team Colour Evolution Ltd location Auckland.

We need help in our print department, we have a fantastic print team who pump out the work all day and we can’t get their awesome work out the door quickly enough so we need an extra pair of hands to help. You need to be energetic, helpful, willing to do whatever needs to be done, a team player, show attention to detail but also handle the sometimes-mundane tasks too.

You also need to be physically fit, carry heavy boxes, move stock around the factory. And be mentally fit to handle pressure at times, we are a fast-paced industry that demand quick turnarounds and so every step happens with haste, you need to be aware of deadlines and be prepared to stick around to see a job through when we need you to do that. We may ask you to work some extra hours at peak times and the odd Saturday when we are really busy.

We need you to count stock in and check it off against the order so you need to have attention to detail but work at speed. You need to unpack boxes, lay-up garments for printing, checking the details as you go to ensuring the right garments are getting the right print in the right place. Then you need to be at the back of the dryer, catching, folding, and packing our beautifully printed items ready for quick despatch. You might be asked to help with cleaning equipment, change pallets on the machine or lend a hand anywhere in the factory.

While assisting the print department will be your primary task you may sometimes be the person to greet and assist a customer when they are picking up their order, you need a tidy appearance and communicate well. You’ll need to measure boxes for despatching and create labels for couriers, sweep the floor when things look a bit untidy, help our embroidery department if they also need assistance. You may also be asked to operate our laser etching machine (after training).  If you show a great attitude, aptitude and aspiration to learn more about printing, there could be opportunity for you to grow your skillset.

You need to love early mornings and be at our Eden Terrace premises, ready for what the day brings at 6.30am each day. If you have some experience in a screenprinting factory then you already have a foot in the door, if you have no experience but are keen to learn, have the right attitude and strong work ethic then that will work in your favour too. If you have a clean driver’s license it’s a bonus. Sometimes we might have to send you to pick up stuff, drop off stuff, grab morning tea for everyone on occasion.
