Overview

Facilities and Campus Services (FCS) provides a responsive, integrated and customer-orientated service that services the physical and built environments for students and staff, supporting their teaching, learning, research and administrative needs.

The Role

The position will primarily act as an interface between suppliers, contractors, and ECU. The ideal candidate will have a previous trade or technical background and have experience in supporting the development and implementation of organisational WHS policies & procedures.

You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of general WHS principals and in particular, SWMS, Permits to Work, risk based analysis and compliance. An understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health & Safety (General) Regulations 2022 will be highly regarded.

Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is a key aspect of the role.

Key Criteria

To be successful in this role you will need to have following key attributes/experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a compliance, facilities, or similar role.
Knowledge of Work Health & Safety Legislation
A technical or trade background will be highly regarded.
Promoting a positive safety culture with excellent people skills essential.
PC literate & comfortable with report writing and assessment of documentation.
Applicable formal technical education and qualifications would be highly regarded.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience monitoring compliance through audits and inspections
Provision of safety advice and technical support across multiple sites.
