A large portfolio management environment is seeking an experienced External Auditor to support a time‑critical lease audit engagement. This is an urgent temporary opportunity, commencing early April, with the goal of completion by 30 June (EOFY).

This role suits a senior-level external auditor or accountant who can operate independently, apply strong professional judgement, and maintain a clearly external and objective audit perspective.

Your New Role
Reporting to the project leads, you will be responsible for auditing a high-volume lease portfolio and validating system‑held data against original, executed lease documentation. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and cost integrity across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Perform independent audits of commercial and government lease agreements
Validate lease data abstracted in portfolio systems against original lease documents
Review and confirm critical lease dates (options, renewals, notices, expiries and terminations)
Verify rent values, incentives, and leased area metrics
Conduct compliance reviews of fully executed lease documentation
Apply IFRS 16 lease accounting principles in audit assessment.
Reconcile discrepancies and provide clear audit findings
Work autonomously to meet tight timeframes and throughput targets

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Proven external audit background (financial audit experience essential)
CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
Must be immediately available
Strong understanding of property and lease administration
Hands-on experience with IFRS 16
High attention to detail with strong reconciliation capability
Confidence working independently in a fast‑paced project environment
Ability to quickly learn portfolio or lease management systems
Exposure to lease portfolio systems or property platforms is desirable.
This role is fully remote, so you must have a suitable work space.
