We have an exciting opportunity in our Event Health Services team for a self-motivated Event Health Officer and also an opportunity in our Transport Services Division for a motivated Communications & Administration Officer. Please state which position you are interested in on your application.

Event Support officer this position will be responsible for the coordination of the St John delivery of first aid services at public and private events throughout the state. Reporting to the Event Support Manager, the scope of the role covers the scheduling of a volunteer and casual workforce to events and oversight of the deployment of resources during the execution of first aid services at events.

You will provide high quality support to all volunteers by effective internal and external communication. Demonstrate experience within a Customer Service, Resourcing or Service Delivery environment. Have the ability to influence, gain respect quickly and develop collaborative relationships to achieve objectives. Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Understand and react appropriately to sensitive and/or confidential issues. Ability to multi-task under pressure and have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrates excellent written communication skills. Demonstrates sound verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates sound computer literacy across the range of Microsoft Office; including Word, Outlook, Excel.

Communications and Administration officer our Communications team are the hub for our Transport Services division. This team are responsible for oversight and direction of all staff on the road for our Deceased Persons Transport and the hospital work we do for Patient Transport, as well as liaison with customers, management and resolving a wide range of issues and challenges on a daily basis. Our team is crucial to support staff on the road and to ensure we provide a timely, safe, financially viable and sustainable transport business. The position is based in Mount Waverly with permanent full time and casual opportunities.

This is a demanding and complex role, requiring someone who is calm under pressure and consistently professional. This role involves juggling multiple priorities, often with limited information and the ability to constantly look ahead and predict and resolve issues before they occur. A successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, be very reliable and be able to work well as part of the team as well as autonomously.

We’d like to hear from you if you meet the following essential skills and attributes (selection criteria) demonstrated experience in a communications, rostering, scheduling and/or a dispatch role – or a willingness and commitment to learn and be trained in this area. Effective communication skills when dealing with employees and clients. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, as well as high accuracy alphanumeric data entry.

A proven record in managing a varied workload across a number of categories and resources. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative. Detailed understanding and adherence to customer requirements. Proven skills and compliance within industry standards as well as an ability to follow industry related protocols. Reliability with the flexibility to work across a rotating roster including day, night and weekend shifts. Willingness to undertake a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
