Our Sydney office is seeking a motivated environmental consultant with 3 - 6 years’ experience to join the Contaminated Land team.

About the role JBS&G is looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our Contaminated Land team in Sydney. You will be part of a dynamic team that works collaboratively with clients across a range of projects both nationally and locally. Our team are fast, capable, experts in all aspects of environmental consulting, from assessment and remediation, completing onsite assessment programs, environmental impact assessment, managing specialist sub-consultants, working with stakeholders and government regulators and providing exceptional outcomes for our clients. JBS&G will provide you with the tools to enable career development, with long standing client relationships, interesting projects, collaboration and idea generation across all sectors and service streams.

About you the successful candidate will hold a relevant degree in environmental science or engineering preferably with a sound understanding of earth sciences, preferably hydrogeology, geology, chemistry or similar. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comply with all statutory and company HSSE policies, standards and procedures, and instigate and follow safe work practices. Ability and willingness to travel if required. Current construction industry White Card and NSW Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) Licenses would be beneficial. Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence.

You communicate openly and clearly with your team members and clients, and inspire trust by reflecting JBS&G’s core values in decisions and actions.

You enjoy being a member of a strong team that works together to find the best solutions for our clients. You like to have fun at work and contribute to the JBS&G company culture. You are keen to learn new skills and are enthusiastic about taking on tasks that may be outside your position description or comfort zone.

A competitive and attractive salary package will be offered to the right applicant, including a phone allowance, subsidised gym membership, and contributions toward professional development. JBS&G has an open and friendly work environment with a relatively flat, technically hands-on management structure where every employee is respected for their contribution to the success of the company. JBS&G is also an equal opportunity employer, has an attractive employee share scheme and is committed to gender diversity principles.

Why work at JBS&G big enough to win and deliver some of the country’s most complex projects but still small enough to have fun and retain a level of autonomy. Fun and friendly work environment. Care and trust culture. Flexible work hours. Workplace gender equality. Opportunities for growth and personal development. Employee share scheme. Purchased leave scheme. Paid parental leave. Subsidised gym memberships and other wellness incentives. Annual free skin check ups. Support towards industry recognised qualifications. Corporate philanthropic program.
