A highly experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the strategy, technology roadmap and design of key corporate enterprise solutions, focusing on ERP systems including workforce management, HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement. While SAP experience is preferred, our client is open to candidates with expertise in other ERP platforms.

Job Summary
Our client, one of the largest and most complex QLD State Government departments, is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the architecture and design of key corporate enterprise solutions, with a focus on workforce management, HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement systems.
The ideal candidate for this role will leverage their deep understanding of these type of solutions to shape the corporate enterprise technology strategy, and ensure these systems align with business objectives.
You will play a key role in creating and maintaining business roadmaps, guiding solution design, and collaborating with executive stakeholders to ensure the scalability and effectiveness of these corporate enterprise systems.
Main Responsibilities
Corporate Business Solutions and Technology Roadmap Development:
Collaborate with business leaders and executive stakeholders to develop Corporate Business Solution Roadmaps that articulate evolving business requirements and strategic goals.
Create and maintain the Corporate Solutions Technology Roadmap, identifying opportunities for optimization, innovation, and integration across HR, finance, logistics, and procurement.
Ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies and IT governance frameworks.
Solution Design Authority:
Establish and manage a Solution Design Authority to oversee the governance and approval of all architectural decisions related to HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement systems.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles, security policies, and industry best practices.
Provide leadership and guidance to internal teams and third-party vendors in the design and implementation of solutions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, ensuring technology strategies align with business priorities.
Collaborate with senior management and functional leaders to identify key business challenges and translate them into architectural solutions.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying and guiding the implementation of innovative solutions, particularly around the automation of HR, payroll, financial, procurement, and supply chain processes.
Stay up to date with the latest developments from SAP, Infor, and other corporate service solution vendors to ensure the organization benefits from contemporary and innovative capabilities.
Develop and enforce best practices for architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability in all solutions.
Solution Architecture & Design:
Support Solution Architects in assessing and designing changes and enhancements to integrated enterprise solutions across HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement.
Ensure solutions leverage best practices from SAP and Infor, aligning with both current and future business needs.
Support the development of scalable, cost-effective, and maintainable solution architectures that meet operational and strategic requirements.
Requirements
Strong understanding of enterprise IT architecture, solution integration, and cloud technologies.
Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology strategies with business goals.
In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, focusing on HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement modules.
Expertise in defining enterprise roadmaps and aligning technical solutions with business objectives.
Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Ability to mentor staff and share skills with team members where appropriate.
Strategic thinker with the ability to see the "big picture" while managing the details of complex systems.
Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus across multiple levels of the organization.
Evaluation Criteria
10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or a similar role, ideally focusing on workforce management, HR, payroll, finance, logistics, and procurement solutions.
Proven track record of developing and executing enterprise architecture strategies in large, complex organizations.
Experience in establishing and managing Solution Design Authorities and ensuring solution governance across multiple functional areas.
The ideal candidate would have deep technical expertise in SAP and Infor Workforce Management, experience with other ERP platforms will also be considered.
Certifications in architecture/solution design, TOGAF, or similar industry-standard frameworks preferred.
Ability to coach teams, drive knowledge transfer, and establish security governance forums to continuously improve organizational capability.
Strong background in producing high-level design documentation, including architecting security frameworks, formulating technical blueprints, and maintaining enterprise security documentation in alignment with best practices.
