About the role

As Engineer – DevOps, Cyber Security, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening Origin’s cyber resilience across our energy value chain. Reporting to the Head of Security Engineering Services, you’ll be part of a collaborative and innovative team that safeguards our platforms and ensures secure, scalable operations.

Responsibilities include;

Write automation code in PowerShell and Python to solve cyber security challenges.
Engineer secure and observable CI/CD pipelines aligned to best practice.
Build, integrate, and optimise security tools across AWS, Azure and cloud-based platforms.
Enhance cyber monitoring, detection, and response capabilities to reduce time-to-contain threats.
Experiment with cutting-edge technologies, including AI and LLMs, to support alert triage and analyst efficiency.
Operate in two-week sprints with a team of smart, friendly technologists committed to innovation.

What will you bring?

We are seeking a candidate with strong technical expertise, a genuine enthusiasm for automation, and a demonstrated interest in cyber security. We require a versatile technology professional to collaborate closely with our Cyber Security team. The ideal individual will excel in a cooperative environment and apply curiosity as well as creativity when addressing challenges. You’ll also bring:
Demonstrated experience in Cyber Security, IT Operations or Software Development.
Skills in DevOps principles and CI/CD practices.
Proficiency in PowerShell and Python (Bash is a plus).
Understanding of security best practices across operating systems.
Experience in orchestrating and integrating open-source and commercial security products.
Degree or certifications in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Software Development.
AWS and/or Azure certifications (desirable).
