About the Opportunity

ASC is seeking Electrical Designer/ Drafters to join the Platform Design team in support of the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program. The roles will see the successful applicants applying their electrical knowledge to perform electrical design and drafting activities to support the integration of new and revised designs into the CCSM, covering many different submarine systems.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver electrical design and drafting tasks to agreed program commitments.
Ensure engineering outputs comply with ASC processes and industry standards.
Produce high quality electrical outputs such as cable block diagrams, schematics, termination diagrams, cable installation schedules, panel layouts/arrangements and parts/equipment lists.
Assist with selection of electrical components suitable for design, installation and manufacture.
Guidance and mentoring of colleagues, sharing your technical knowledge to support the growth and capability of our growing team.
Collaborate with other disciplines and departments across the organisation to assist with delivery of engineering products and services.
Provide regular task updates, escalating blockages and ensuring alignment with project priorities and objectives.
Seek better ways of working, that drive improvement in relation to program cost, schedule and quality.
About you

Experience as an Electrical Designer/Drafter supporting the delivery of engineering solutions
Electrical Trade experience/qualification is highly regarded.
Experience in design and integration of electrical systems, including preparation of production level drawings and documentation.
Experience in AutoCAD to produce 2D drawings is favourable (training provided)
Exposure to control panel / switchboard design an additional benefit
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Adaptability to manage multiple design activities concurrently whilst still delivering work on time and within budget.
Proven experience leading a team of designers and engineers to manage complex engineering project deliverables (required for Senior Level)
Knowledge of configuration systems and the role of configuration management in the design process.
A tertiary qualification e.g. Diploma/Advanced Diploma in a related Engineering discipline is desirable
Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
