Including disease surveillance, immunisation adverse events, vaccine safety, and vaccine coverage, program evaluations and social research. NCIRS has national and international recognition in this arena and has a growing program of work providing technical support to countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

NCIRS staff has significant technical expertise in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, paediatrics, internal medicine, infectious diseases, social science and quantitative and qualitative research, survey methods, and education.

The Centre is based within the Division of Research of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, Westmead Campus, NSW, Australia, but has an all-age research remit and is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Sydney Institute for Infectious Diseases (Sydney ID) at the University of Sydney.

This appointment will be full-time temporary for 12 months with a strong likelihood of extension. What you'll be doing the role of the Editorial and Library Assistant is to provide operational support to the Editorial and Library team.

This will include providing general administrative support, database management, assistance in proofing and document formatting for NCIRS reports and other documents. Supporting editorial and library requirements for ATAGI and Handbook-related work.

The Editorial and Library Assistant will require significant experience in research, health and or academic environment and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and experience with editing and proofing.

The Editorial and Library Assistant will be capable of organising priorities and monitoring the workflow of their activities within their level of responsibility.

NCIRS also provides technical support for the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, including the production of The Australian Immunisation Handbook. Significant and relevant qualifications and/or experience in health, research, or academic environment.

Demonstrated proofreading ability and familiarity with the use of editorial style guides. Advanced IT skills, with demonstrated experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, primarily in Word processing.

Demonstrated ability to work with bibliographic management software e.g. EndNote. Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills. Possess high-level organisation skills, meticulous attention to detail and effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and monitor the progress of workflow.

ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are highly recommended for all other health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
