Dog Handler NatureDogs location Auckland. $23.65 per hour.

Our business takes dogs for off leash walks in our private, fenced park. We are a pick up only service and are looking for a new driver/handler to care for up to 16 dogs at a time.

Your day to day will look a lot like this picking up dogs in one of our vans from 9am-11am, training and managing the dogs at our private farm with the other handlers from 11am-2:30pm, a quick rinse for the dogs if required and dropping them off in the afternoon between 2:30pm-5pm.

Your driving hours will likely reduce as you familiarise yourself with the area and pickup routines, but on your average week we still pay for 40 hours regardless if you fill them or not. We provide a company vehicle for this and you will need a clean, full driver’s license.

You will have other responsibilities that will vary in frequency such as cleaning the company vehicle and taking the vehicle to regular servicing bookings. Coordinating with clients and potential clients to schedule meetings and dog walks. Meeting and evaluating dogs for dog walks. Taking photos of dogs and uploading them for the company to use.

There are definitely days that are messier than others and this job will not be appropriate for someone who is squeamish about all the sorts of messes that dogs can make, and the bugs and mud that come with working outdoors.

You will be servicing a large amount of central/east Auckland. Currently Kath is the handler servicing the area so you can check out our website for the full area she services and what you will be taking over.

Experience is obviously a plus but we are happy to train up anyone from scratch if we think they will be a good fit. This is a permanent, full time position. The job is available immediately.
