About the role:

We are looking for lawyers who want to be at the forefront of change in the legal industry and reframe what it looks like to be a lawyer in the modern world.

As a Senior Associate in our growing team, you'll work with our practice groups globally to manage a range of litigation and contentious regulatory matters, with a focus on providing holistic, innovative, and efficient legal advice and matter management for our clients.

This role gives you the opportunity to think differently about how we deliver legal advice, including utilising global teams, legal technology, and generative AI. Your commercial curiosity and enthusiasm for utilising technology are just as important as your technical ability to effectively manage the full lifecycle of a major dispute.

Strong communication and people skills are also critical as you will not only manage junior lawyers and legal analysts, but also build strong, commercial working relationships with our practice groups, consulting division and clients locally and globally.

Please review the job description attached to the role on our careers site as it provides more detail around the team, role, what we can offer you, and what we are looking for.

About you:

An Australian practising certificate.
A minimum of 6 years' legal experience in dispute resolution, litigation or regulatory investigations within a respected firm, Commonwealth or state government, or in-house role.
Deep experience managing the full lifecycle of litigation or contentious regulatory matters, including large scale document reviews and productions.
Experience and confidence using RelativityOne for document review processes.
A desire to be a part of a growing team that's seeking to change the way we provide advice to our clients.
Well-developed legal skills, including drafting, negotiating, analysis, and project management.
An ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and effective manner using plain English (both verbally and written).
Curiosity and an enthusiasm to challenge, innovate and think differently.
Experience utilising legal technology, including generative AI, and a keen desire to be across technological change and how to utilise that to deliver legal advice.
Experience leading and mentoring successful teams on complex matters.

We value diverse perspectives at Ashurst, so even if you don't feel you meet all of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
