The role reporting directly to the CEO, your role will be a broad one requiring you to be '‘hands-on'’ and in the detail, but also a strong business partner to the leadership team and board. You will be principally responsible for leading the accounting function and for ensuring effective controls and accurate reporting to support business strategy.
Other duties ensuring financial targets and business performance is well considered and communicated. Supporting growth in funds under management. Advising on strategic and business planning. Financial control, including budgeting, accounting, forecasting and reporting to the Synod, board, leadership team and broader team.
Overseeing delivery of accounting and payroll services. Supporting the fund accounting function. Commercial oversight of all outsourced providers and suppliers. Acting as public officer for all entities. Managing finance and tax statutory and regulatory compliance including audits. Developing and improving financial policies, procedures, processes and systems.
Skills you are an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Director with an impressive track record and reputation as an ethical finance leader. You have highly developed technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, along with proven experience managing complex and high-level stakeholder relationships. You are a big picture leader who can reason at a conceptual level and drive change, while still maintaining a strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
You are a natural leader with a high degree of integrity, you are comfortable to challenge the status quo and have the confidence and credibility to engage effectively and build relationships with all levels of an organisation. Most importantly you are excited by the idea of running an end-to-end finance function of an organisation that's giving back to the community and have a strong values alignment to the U-Ethical business.
Qualifications and Experience CA or CPA qualified. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics. A strong affinity with ethical investing. A desire and ability to work in an aspirational boutique business environment. Demonstrable experience in: Funds management and/or financial services.
