About Around the Clock Dog Care. Around the Clock Dog Care is a busy daycare & cage free boarding facility located Wollongong NSW.
We opened our doors in 2018 to provide a safe, clean and FUN place for Wollongong's dogs to play the day away. Our focus is on socialising, training and enriching the lives all of our beautiful doggy clients.
About the role in this exciting and busy role you will be responsible for supervising off-leash play groups. Engaging in group dynamics and problem solving in a fast paced environment. Serving our lovely clients at pick up and drop off times.
Cleaning, cleaning and MORE cleaning. Constantly monitoring the welfare of the dogs in your care. Providing boarding services during the weekends.
About you while working with dogs sounds like a lot of fun (and it is!) it is also a very demanding job physically and mentally. We are looking for people who would love to become part of a team, who can work both with others and independently.
Must be extremely quick on their feet and fast thinking, with the ability to multitask – we have to be able to improvise and adapt to whatever the dogs throw at us. We need someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty as there is A LOT of cleaning.
As we are a growing business & we would love someone who is proactive and energetic. We are looking for someone who would love to have the opportunity to grow and learn with us, with the flexibility that will be needed during business growing pains.
During the weekends we provide cage free boarding in an in home environment on site. All candidates must be available to do a minimum of 1 full weekend a month. During the weekends the work expectations and load are very different.
Your key focus will be to make sure the dogs are behaving but otherwise are free to watch TV and relax with them. As such weekends are paid as a pet sitting/day rate. You MUST be a lover of all dogs! No matter the size or the breed.
If you are put off by smelly odours, slobber, loud noises or poop, this is not the job for you. Professional experience in the animal industry is NOT essential for this position, but being enthusiastic, eager to learn, being extremely reliable and have great customer service is a must.
This positions are for Monday-Sunday. With weekends being done as a daily shift due to the nature of cage free boarding and change of focus for weekend shifts.
Generally starting rates are between the advertised rate, depending on experience and ability. But we have access to a system called dog gurus which is daycare focused training. There are 2 courses Knowing dogs 101 & 201.
Once anyone completes both courses you will receive an immediate increase to your hourly rate. Meaning any successful candidates will have a path to a pay rise within the first few weeks or month depending on how quickly you decide to complete the courses.
To be considered for this position you must have a passion for dogs, a current drivers license, great customer communications skills, an eye for cleaning, quick on your feet with the ability to independently make decision as well as taking instruction.
Great workplace communication skills are a must. Prior experience is a bonus but the ability to listen and learn is key. Cert 2 or 3 in animal studies or a dog training certificate is a plus. Flexible hours and the ability to be called to shift is a plus as well. A bright and bubbly attitude toward your co-workers and canines alike. Take on out of hours training.
