Cyber Security Specialist New Zealand Police location Wellington.

About the role we have an opportunity for two senior cyber security specialists who have the drive and determination to ensure that Police operates safely and successfully. These positions are within the Cyber Security Team, based at the Royal New Zealand Police College, Wellington. You will provide expertise in the security standards, monitoring and processes used to keep Police information safe.

We are looking for experience and technically skilled Windows and/or linux engineers and administrators who have a real interest in cyber security and are looking to make the step up to a dedicated cyber security role within a growing security focused team. Ideally we are seeking technology professionals with at least 3 years of cloud platform experience in administrating the security aspects of Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS.

You will have led the technical response to cyber security within your existing role and would like to make the move to an organisation with the focus and resources to allow you to progress your career in cyber security.

You may be a developer with a strong cyber security career interest and have lead secure code practice. You will already be familiar with a wide range of cyber security applications and platforms over and above malware protection and patching. Able to demonstrate advanced management of security software and appliances. You will also understand the importance of constant monitoring and visibility to protect our information assets.

Special requirements to apply for this role you must be a NZ or Australian Citizen or NZ permanent resident. Have top secret security clearance or the ability to obtain it. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a full reference and security check prior to any offer of employment being made. As a part of the selection process applicants will be required to undergo a psychometric test.

You may be a developer with a strong cyber security career interest and have lead secure code practice. You will be able to comfortably hold and contribute to technical discussion across a wide range of technical disciplines such as networks, servers, storage applications and developers.
