The position reporting through to the Sales Manager, you’ll join as the newest member of the Victorian Team.  As the 4th member of our Customer Service Team, your primary objective will be to consistently deliver an exceptional ‘customer experience’ to each of the customers you interact with over the phone each day. The key to your success, will be your ability to build great relationships with our customers, many of which you’ll speak with on a daily or weekly basis. The best thing about our industry is definitely the people and once you’ve proven to our customer base that you’re there for them and that they can trust you, you’ll find that some of the relationships you establish will last a lifetime!

This role also involves lots of problem solving. You’ll need to think ahead as you’ll be heavily involved with the planning and organisation of logistics each day. At Meyer Timber, we always deliver. We never let our customers down.  Over time, you’ll reach a point where you understand your customer’s needs so well that you can become proactive and forecast and predict what they need to order next. Other imprtant aspects of this dynamic role include working closely with our Sales Team as together Customer Service and Sales bring home our monthly sales result.

Developing a sound knowledge of our diverse product range – we understand this will take time and will support you along this journey, however it’s important you come into the position wanting to learn and with the aim of being able to work towards confidently providing product advice to customers over the phone; and continuous Improvement – at Meyer Timber we are always striving to become better at what we do. Thus you will play a key role in identifying and implementing improvements to our day to day practices and processes.

Right fit for you this position is ideally suited to an individual who is looking to make a long-term commitment to our organisation in a customer service capacity. Additional Selection Criteria includes great verbal communication skills – presenting well over the phone is critical, so too is your ability to be personable and explain yourself clearly. A proven track record as a good team player. A keen attention to detail and a natural willingness to take care and get things right the first time.

An ability to ‘think on your feet’, multitask and remain effective under pressure. Confident technology skills – you’ll be tech savvy and keen to integrate technology as much as you can to improve the efficiency of the work you do. Good numeracy and literacy skills.
