Your role at Ausgrid the role of Customer Manager leads the organisation’s relationship management with connected and connecting major customers, with key segments such as large industry, utilities, infrastructure, large business, energy transformation, and urban planning.  With responsibility for leading a team, the role seeks to enhance the organisation’s reputation through proactive management of their needs to continuously improve the image and profile of the organisation.

What we are looking for leadership is a critical focus of this role. You will lead the proactive management of major customer and stakeholder relationships, promoting a positive profile of the organisation. Manage delivery of contestable connections and relocations for major projects (primarily 33kV and above and complex distribution projects) including negotiate with customers in managing connection applications, facilitate and manage assessment of applications, provision of connection information, and connection offers, and timely coordination of customer connection requirements.

Manage Ausgrid’s exposure to risk in providing customer connection services, particularly relating to the legal, safety, and financial implications of contestability. Establish long term relationships with major customers to ensure timely coordination of customer connection requirements and provide strategic input to key business stakeholders

Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Selection Criteria Class C Drivers licence. Demonstrated ability to lead the management of major customer and stakeholder relationships, promoting a positive profile of the organisation to the community, customers, stakeholders, and employees.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships across a variety of stakeholders including internal employees, engineering professionals, customers, and representatives of industry bodies. Proven ability to manage customer expectations in stressful situations, minimise escalations, and deliver a positive customer experience.

Applied knowledge of design, construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution networks, knowledge and experience in the application of the relevant network standards as well as associated planning and technical standards. Knowledge and experience of engineering principles and related skills including demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills for the design and operation of electrical networks.

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to create, motivate, and develop a successful team. Demonstrated understanding of Ausgrid’s policies in relation to Customer Connections and experience in implementing policy decisions independently.

Demonstrated ability to provide practical input into the development of policies and framework relating to contestable processes, policies and contracts and implement changes to business processes and work procedures. Advanced time management and organisation skills, demonstrated ability to operate to deadlines and respond to multiple demands in a flexible manner.
