Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the role due to internal movements, the Ministry of Justice are now seeking a new Court Registry Support Officer to join our team in the Nelson District Court. This is a pivotal role for the Ministry. The responsibilities of Support Officers help the courts operate timely and effectively.

As a Court Registry Support Officer your day will involve you engaging with our customers, including Lawyers, Judges, and the public - whether it be over the phone or face to face. You'll work closely with Court Registry Officers and support them while they take Court and manage case files.

Some of your duties will include, but not be limited to manage incoming and outgoing mail Support the jury service function. Opportunities to learn and develop. This a permanent full-time position.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing timely and efficient customer service. Supporting Judges and Court Registry Officers both in and out of the courtroom. Supporting jurors for trial hearings. Providing general administrative support for Court Registry Officers, including photocopying, scanning and filing. Managing the incoming and outgoing mail. Managing evidence exhibits, Accounts payable, Data entry.

To be successful in this role you will have proven customer service experience. You will need to be confident, able to multi task, flexible and adapt to change with ease. You'll also enjoy a challenge and be motivated to learn.

The salary range for this position is $43,000 -$53,798. Starting salaries are generally between $43,000and $45,000and are dependent on skills and experience.
