About the role we have an opportunity for 20 x Communications Officer to be part of our Radio Operations Group, Communication Services Command. The Communications Officer primary role is responsible for tasking and coordinating activities if police vehicles responding to incidents. The role also processes urgent and non-urgent telephone calls providing timely information to operational police to enable appropriate action to be taken.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you must meet one of the following statuses an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen.
All applicants who are short-listed from the application stage will be required to undergo a computer test including typing speed (a minimum of 35 words per minutes), data entry, cognitive reasoning and reading comprehension.
Initial entry requires undertaking the paid Training Program. This is a fifteen week full-time course, which will be run at Sydney Radio Operations Centre located in Surry Hills, commencing 10 September 2023. All trainees must successfully complete this Training Program and probation period to retain their appointment.
This role is classified as a shift worker in accordance with clause 3.58 of the Crown Employees (NSW Police Force Administrative Officer and Temporary Employees) Award 2009. Shift penalties are paid in accordance with clause 89.1 of the Award.
All NSW Police Force employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine or have a valid medical contraindication certificate that can be accommodated in the workplace. You are required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status (including medical contraindication) as part of your application for consideration by NSWPF.
Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
