Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Ibis Perth. As an integral member of the kitchen brigade, you will assist in food preparation, uphold kitchen hygiene standards, and support senior chefs in delivering high-quality meals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards.
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Maintain a clean and organised workstation while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Assist in stock management, including storage and rotation of ingredients.
Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Uphold excellent kitchen organisation and safety standards.
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Adapt to changing menus, special events, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar entry-level kitchen role in a hotel.
A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
Basic knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for food and eagerness to learn and develop culinary skills.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and public holiday.
