Based in our Newstead office and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in delivering data-driven insights, financial modelling and performance analysis to support key commercial and strategic initiatives, refinancing and business unit optimisation. Job Description
Position Purpose
The Commercial Analyst is a key strategic role within the finance team, responsible for enhancing financial visibility and supporting high-impact commercial decisions. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with executive leadership you will deliver actionable insights, build robust financial models and drive performance across the group.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain advanced financial models to support forecasting and strategic planning
Design and manage Power BI dashboards to deliver real-time performance insights across the group
Conduct ROI analysis and evaluate key performance metrics to support investment and operational decisions
Collaborate with the CFO on strategic projects including refinancing, monetisation events and capital structure optimisation
Analyse large datasets to identify trends, performance drivers, and commercial opportunities
Integrate financial modelling with business intelligence tools to support budgeting and forecasting
Provide commercial analysis to evaluate business unit performance and identify cost efficiencies
Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial insights with operational goals
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data used in reporting and decision-making
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting frameworks and analytical capabilities
Assist in preparing board-level presentations and investor materials
Support treasury functions including cash flow forecasting and funding strategy
Stay current with industry trends, financial regulations and best practices in corporate finance
Key Criteria
Expertise in financial modelling and commercial analysis, with advanced Excel and Power BI (including DAX) skills and the ability to build and interpret complex models for forecasting and strategic planning.
Proven experience in corporate finance, transactions, or advisory, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to evaluate ROI and business performance in a high-growth or data-rich environment.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify performance drivers, and deliver insights that inform executive-level decisions.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and collaborate effectively across finance, operations and executive teams.
Adaptability and initiative, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-performance environment aligned with organisational values.
