The opportunity are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? ProCare Fresh Minds provides Psychologists to a small number of schools in the Health New Zealand Auckland district as part of a programme aiming to change the trajectory of young people who are often experiencing disparities in health and mental health outcomes.

Our school-based psychologists are part of the Fresh Minds wider team, with an Ellerslie base. During the school term, they operate out of School Health Centres alongside other health professionals including registered nurses and GP's. This role will be working in one school one day a week, as well as being part of the Therapy Centres team based at Ellerslie and/or Rosedale.

You will work alongside a vibrant group of ProCare Fresh Minds psychologists. Delivering interventions to young people, working collaboratively with the school-based health team, and the provision of case consultation with school and health centre staff.

There are also significant opportunities for innovation, including the development of and facilitation of youth-appropriate group and webinar programmes within a school setting.

Key skills a registered clinical psychologist with a current practicing certificate. Comprehensive clinical experience in modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, ACT, CBT, DBT, and/or FACT. Experience working within a mental health setting (primary or secondary) undertaking contextual assessments, child, youth, and family-focused interventions, and providing talking therapies.

Training and support are provided for early career psychologists and for psychologists planning to return to the workforce. A passion for working with people from all walks of life in a brief intervention primary mental health context. You will be flexible, a self-starter, and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

The Fresh Minds Centres see individuals and families across the age range and offers a range of interventions, including brief interventions, intensive therapy under ACC contracts, tele-therapy, 'live' interactive webinars, parenting programmes, Mindfulness and other groups.
