Our client Carinya Home for the Aged, is a well-established, community-owned Aged Care facility in Atherton, Queensland. Carinya has been providing specialised care to the Atherton Tablelands and surrounding districts since 1977 and enjoys an established reputation within the community and surrounding districts for the provision of high quality, person-centered care. The facility accommodates 131 residents across assisted care, complex and dementia care facilities and in addition, provides 15 independent living units.
Atherton is located within Tropical North Queensland and is just over an hour and a half’s drive west of Cairns. Atherton is one of the main towns within the Atherton Tablelands and is a hub for many local residents in the surrounding towns and farms. Atherton offers a family-friendly environment within a beautiful tropical environment with access to national parks, rivers, and within easy reach of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
Your new role we have a rare opportunity for an experienced CNC to join the team at Carinya in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Director of Care, this influential role will see you focus on Person-centered care. You will be directly involved with the management of complex cases, lead the education of clinical staff, and interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities will also include clinical management and governance, Providing leadership to the clinical staff, Ensuring Accreditation standards and legislative requirements are met, Clinical education, Working with the Director of Care to provide board reports.
Your qualifications and experience registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration. Five year’s minimum experience as an RN, with at least 3 years in Aged Care. Experience in the coordination/case management of complex cases within an aged care environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proven ability in achieving and maintaining compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards. Ability to provide education to clinical staff, residents, and families. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
