About the role the MBIE Immigration Contact Centre needs people who are switched on. To be successful in this role, you will need a passion for learning, a positive, pro-active approach to work, be resilient and have proven experience in a customer service environment.

As a Client Services Advisor in the Te Whakatairanga Immigration Contact Centre team, you will assist our internal, external, and global customers.  ICC provides valuable information and advice to people who wish to visit, study, work or live lawfully in New Zealand.  This role gives you invaluable insights into MBIE, you'll build relationships within the organisation, and will be well supported by an experienced leadership team.

Hours this is a permanent, full-time role where you will be scheduled for an 8 hour shift, between the hours of 8am and 10pm, Monday to Friday. We are ideally looking for people who can commit to starting later in the day e.g 10am start onwards. MBIE offers the opportunity to work from home 40% of the time once you are trained, competent and confident in the role.

Salary the starting salary will be $51,323. Thanks to our progression framework, if you like self-development and achieving goals there is the ability to move quickly through our salary steps. Within 12 to 18 months you could be on $61,528 with the ability to move to a Senior Client Service Advisor role and earn up to $66,630.

Skills and experience required our Client Service Advisors will be able to demonstrate their exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Listen to what people need, analyse information quickly and give concise, complete and correct advice for the issue at hand.

Handle stressful and emotionally difficult situations with a level head and sensitive approach. Communicate and build rapport with a diverse variety of people and cultures. Create a great customer experience that is world class by being empathetic, trusted and knowledgeable. Be agile working in a fast-paced, exciting, and fluid environment.
