Client/Customer Service Officer - NSW Government - Communities and Families. $38.40ph + super. Immediate start pending checks. Initial 6 month contract with view to extend. Strawberry hills location. Full time, Monday to Friday. Working with Children Check required.

This large Government department within family and community services is seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer to join the team for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

The Customer Service Officer places an integral role in providing front line services to the community from a local office, this includes a range of client and administrative services that contribute to the effective delivery of quality services in the local office. This is a highly rewarding working environment, offering the opportunity to assist those in the community.

They collaborate with government, non-government and community partners to work with children, adults, families and communities to improve lives and realise potential, with a focus on breaking, rather than managing, disadvantage.

Responsibilities include but not limited to provide support and customer service on reception and associated front counter duties including answering telephones and referrals to other service providers. Provide administrative support to the casework teams at the local office with a high level of attention to detail and a focus on customer service.

Accurate data entry and record management, maintaining confidentiality at all times as well as following the required policies and procedures. Assisting with the coordination of meetings, travel and events. Managing incoming and outgoing mail.

Provide support and maintain records of motor vehicle fleet usage, arranging cleaning, servicing and repairs as required. Maintain stationery and office supplies and monitor and maintain office equipment. Appreciating the nature of services that caseworkers provide to clients, in order to provide quality clerical support to a casework team and prioritise the demands of the team.

Skills and experience outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive issues and confidential information. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle confronting situation and remain calm under pressure.

Decision making and problem solving skills. Planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines in a demanding work place. Tech savvy - the ability to pick up new systems quickly. A background in community services or prior experience within the NSW Government is beneficial.
