The Role
In the position of Chief Officer, you will form part of the competent crew on board our expedition cruise ships. The role is a vital position that works closely with the Master and/or Chief Engineer to ensure the safety of the vessel, the passengers and the crew on board the vessel. The successful applicant will have a high level of customer service, as well as a sound level of seamanship.
This position would suit a motivated person who is looking for a stable job in a well-established nationwide marine team.
What you will bring to us
Proven deck experience, preferably on passenger ships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent personal presentation
Ability to work well in a team environment
High level of customer service
Passionate about the Marine environment
Proven record in Managing a team
Previous ships inventory systems knowledge a plus (HELM)
Sound knowledge of International Safety Management systems (ISM)
Management in ships inventory and stock take procedures
Demonstrated safe working practices mindset.
Desired Skills and Experience
The minimum requirements are:
Master ticket (Master Unlimited/Master500/Chief Mate)
GMDSS
Proficiency in Survival Craft
AMSA Endorsed Certificate of Safety Training (CoST)
Crowd control & Crisis Management
AMSA Medical
Remote Area First Aid & Advanced CPR
ASSB or other country equivalent discharge book.
