Job description autonomy and opportunity in abundance for a CFO who is ready to lead. This will a busy, varied and future focused senior leadership role. You will have the chance to lead the financial strategic direction and management for Central Otago District Council, helping us to deliver enhanced wellbeing to the community we serve.

We have an annual operating budget of $64m and annual capital expenditure of $50m. This is an exciting time in local government with several reforms underway which will have significant impacts on the future funding model of Council. And you’ll get to help us navigate a pathway through!

We are looking for a CFO with local government experience who can effectively lead the organisation and the finance team towards its new future, and to lead all aspects of our financial management and accountability.

You will be responsible for leading the Council’s financial strategy and management. Ensuring Council’s financial systems and controls are fit for purpose. Management of the treasury function. Support the effective oversight of financial aspects of audit, risk and procurement functions.
