This circa $1b manufacturing and distribution organisation plays a key enabling role within New Zealand’s value chain. They also are an Essential Service Provider, with their role underpinning our agriculture market being more crucial than ever due to Covid 19.

Based in Mount Maunganui (New Zealand) and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Digital Officer will provide visionary leadership and a compelling future digital roadmap that enables the company’s business strategy. Leading a large team, the Chief Digital Officer will be responsible for delivering functional excellence across the disciplines of IT Project Management, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Applications Management, Applications Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture & Security.

Whilst inheriting a solid technology roadmap, this will need to be further refined and enhanced to ensure the company continues to lead its market. Significant programmes of work the CDO will govern include continuing the company’s exploration of Artificial Intelligence, driving its ongoing Cyber Security journey, and most importantly, further digitisation of its Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions.

Accordingly, we are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who have at least three years’ experience leading an IT function as a Chief Digital Officer, Chief Information Officer, IT Director or equivalent role. Exposure to working within a large-scale, complex business which manufactures and/or distributes physical goods is essential. Experience operating as part of a Senior Leadership or Executive Team.

Experience within an environment where a digital customer interface has been successfully developed. Keen interest in and insights regarding global technology operating trends and emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to understand organisational context and develop a future focused digital strategy and execution roadmap. Executive presence and charisma, strong influencing skills and a highly credible people leader who has led teams of at least 20 staff.

Well rounded individual who is collaborative and team orientated, yet prepared to challenge. Deep experience working within an environment enabled by an ERP system such as SAP (ideal), Oracle, Dynamics et al.
