We are looking for a motivated Chef Assistant / Cook / Kitchen Helper to join our team. To excel in this position, you must possess a keen interest in culinary arts and creative cooking with a strong ability to listen and follow instructions given by the Sous Chef. Prepare and execute dishes to the highest standards and creating amazing dining experiences for all our guests. Additional valuable skills include excellent communication skills and familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances. The need to be able to stand and move around for long periods of time is required.

Duties and responsibilities support the Sous Chef in ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations. Prepare and execute menu dishes to the highest standards. Handle a wide range of raw fish and other seafood and carry out daily mise en place production. Participate in creating unforgettable experiences and high standards of service to dining guests over the counter through the service of dishes, interaction with customers regarding menu items, re-filling water/tea/alcohol together with the service team.

Support the team in recipe development; planning and creation of new dishes. Organize kitchen space in an efficient and professional manner and ensure the area is clean and tidy in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards. Assist the team in maintaining strict costing through efficient purchasing and consumption of stock, minimizing wastage of stock and efficient utilization of kitchen equipment.

Comply and ensure food hygiene and safety standards are strictly adhered to on a daily basis. Foster and promote a cooperative working environment, maximizing productivity, and team morale. Cooperate with management in the execution of marketing initiatives, events, and other activations. Undertake additional duties and responsibilities of work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position. Any other duties as assigned by Head Chef.

Requirements has experience in Japanese cuisine will be advantageous. Has experience working as a prep cook in a fast-paced environment. Shown willingness to learn. Training will be provided. A positive attitude team player. Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently. Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances. Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety, and hygiene. Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time.

For Singaporeans, SPR or LTVP holders. No quota for Work Passes. Location Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Boulevard and Forum the shopping mall, 583 Orchard Road. Salary Competitive salary based on experience (basic + OT = from $1,800 - $2,400). Working hours 5.5/6 days per week.
