Category or Buyer’s Assistant Whitcoulls 2011 LTD location Auckland.

Whitcoulls is an iconic New Zealand brand with a long history of selling an exciting range of products from books to stationery to games and toys. We currently have an opportunity for a Category / Buyer’s Assistant to join our Fashion Stationery and Gift Buying team. This is a fantastic entry level role where you can really kick start your career in retail buying.

The role the category assistant works as part of the Buying team to source product from around the world and is in involved in a wide variety of tasks, including general administration and data integrity, Category reporting and analysis, Stock management. Working with vendors, Collaborating with the marketing team on campaigns, photo shoots and social media. Involvement in product research and development. Store support. This is a varied and fast paced role, where no two days will be the same.

Skills and experience university qualification. Strong customer service skills. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel. Strong time management. Excellent numeric and communication skills. A positive attitude and relationship builder.
