As a Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of young individuals with disabilities. You will serve as a mentor, advocate, and role model, helping them navigate the challenges they face while promoting their independence and personal development.

Your primary responsibilities will include mentoring and Guidance Providing guidance and support to address their unique needs and aspirations, assisting them in setting personal goals and creating action plans.

Life Skills Development Assisting youth in developing essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, self-care, and decision-making, to enhance their independence. Advocacy Advocating for the rights and well-being of youth in care, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

Successful applicants will need experience Previous experience working in disability services, support services, or mentoring roles is highly desirable. Communication Skills Excellent communication and active listening skills to effectively engage with youth, families, and the wider support network. Flexibility and Patience The ability to adapt to changing situations and remain patient and supportive in challenging circumstances.
