The Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) is an integral organisation for enhancing Australia's and New Zealand's capabilities in nuclear science and engineering by facilitating world-class research and education.

AINSE offers a range of programs and services to its University and Industry members including Honours and Postgraduate scholarships, Early Career Researcher Grants, and intensive education schools.

Based at Lucas Heights, our office currently has opportunities for self-motivated individuals with a demonstrated strong commitment to customer service to join the team as casual Administration Assistants.

Hours will vary dependant on business activities throughout the year and possible hybrid working arrangements may be available after initial training has been completed.  Suitable candidates will also be added to an eligibility list and contacted for future vacancies that may become available over the next 12 months.

Students who are interested in gaining experience in a business environment with exposure to a wide range of activities from scholarship applications to event planning are encouraged to apply.

The main duties of the position include providing timely and accurate support to AINSE staff with administration and event planning activities. Providing timely and accurate support to students and external customers via email, telephone and face to face. Support the work activities of the management team.

We are looking for a person with the following attributes ability to work under instruction, as part of a team, and on own initiative by following and performing tasks in accordance with procedures and processes.

Ability to interact with a wide range of people, with a strong customer service focus. Strong attention to detail. Organised and self-motivated. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel and Word). An interest in graphic design software (such as InDesign) is desirable. To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and pre-employment medical assessment. All applicants must be Australian citizens.
