The secret to our success is down to the amazing team that we have as part of The Gateau House family. As one of our Chefs, you will be used to be working in a fast-paced environment as we bake over 600 cakes a day.

You will be responsible for prepping all ingredients that make our cakes look fabulous and taste exquisite – from working with fresh cream and slicing fresh fruits to handling delicate chocolate flown in from Belgium, especially for our cakes.

We are on the hunt for individuals who are assisting Pastry chefs in preparation, decorating and other tasks. Looking to take that next step in their back-of-house career. Experience with food handling . Understand and abide by Food Safety & Cleaning regulations.

Ability to multi-task and work on multiple priorities. Demonstrate a passion for great food and food presentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Motivated to work as part of a friendly team. Great attention to detail and time management.

Great and positive can-do attitude. Have the ability to work under pressure. Flexible in nature. Full training will be provided for the right candidate. You will be rostered to work a minimum of 30 hours across Monday – Saturday from 6:30 am to 3 pm on weekdays and from 6 am to 2:30 pm on Saturdays. The ability to work on a Saturday is essential.
