Our opportunity reporting to the Head of Business Performance & Investor Relations, you will be part of a high performing commercial team responsible for enabling the business to make great decisions.

More specifically, this team is a crucial conduit between finance and the wider Mercury business - interpreting complex financial and non-financial data, then producing easily digestible insights, meaningful scenario models and business cases to both quantify opportunities and mitigate risks.

You will be working in close partnership with the Generation leadership team to collectively deliver operational excellence and complex strategic projects. A key part of the role will be to identify and execute commercial business opportunities and ultimately empower the leadership team with insightful information and data to help drive commercial decision making. Within your remit you will create robust reporting, contribute to the annual business planning process and support Executive and Board reporting.

We are looking for strong commercial acumen and business partnering capabilities. Proactive and collaborative approach to work, and a solution focused mind set. Proven tenure in a senior commercial finance role, within large complex organisations and / or matrix reporting structures. Highly experienced in the preparation of business cases and subsequent delivery of strategic projects and business plans.

Previous experience in building reporting frameworks, alongside excellent financial modelling and analytical skills is essential. Prior project management skills would be an advantage. Although a professional accounting qualification isn't critical, a thorough understanding of complex accounting principles is. With the calibre of your stakeholders, excellent communication skills and credibility at Executive level is an absolute necessity.
