About Us at Veterinary Associates Equine, we pride ourselves on being more than just a veterinary practice; we're a community dedicated to advanced equine healthcare.

Our state-of-the-art facilities and expert team are committed to providing exceptional care and innovative solutions for our equine patients. Veterinary Associates is an equine general and referral practice located in Karaka, South Auckland, Warkworth and Kumeu, New Zealand.

The clinic employs 20 veterinarians and 16 support staff. Our ambulatory team members have vehicles which are fully equipped to cope with any routine or emergency situation. When needed, our custom-built hospital is well-equipped with the latest equine medical technology. We are growing and are seeking a dynamic Business Manager to join our team and drive our practice to new heights.

The opportunity as our Business Manager, you will be at the helm of our business operations, steering our practice toward continued growth and excellence. This is your chance to be a key player in a mission-driven organization, shaping strategies and overseeing operations that make a real difference in the lives of horses and their owners.

You'll work closely with our leadership team, influencing every aspect of our business from financial management to strategic planning. This is a full-time role, predominantly based from Karaka, with some required travel to the satellite locations as required.

Key responsibilities reporting to the Directors, the primary responsibilities for this role will be cultivating and maintaining a people-first culture that promotes wellbeing, team collaboration, professional development and performance management. This role will also assist with the implementation of strategic direction, KPI measurement, and the seamless operation of our practice. You will be a key driver in achieving business excellence.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding leadership skills with a proven record of managing professional personnel to be a high performing team. Experience in assisting the implementation of forward thinking strategic and business plans. Excellence and proven experience in managing People and Culture.

Excellence in managing and supporting business processes and functions including but not limited to Finance; Human Resources; Procurement and Inventory; Systems and Operations; Sales and Marketing.    Natural ability to problem solve and handle conflict resolution. Proven financial knowledge and acumen.

The ability to manage and implement change. Relevant business Qualification (such as, yet not limited to Bachelor of Business (Human Resources), Master of Business Administration). Experience working within the veterinary industry (desirable but not essential). Proficiency in business management software and tools. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for people and service delivery excellence. Passion for the equine industry and a commitment to our mission.
