Parininihi ki Waitotara (PKW) is a Māori Incorporation based in Taranaki, Aotearoa. The PKW Group, includes PKW Farms LP, Taranaki’s largest dairy farmer with active business interests in dairy and dairy support, beef and livestock trading. The Partnership comprises 20 dairy and dairy support farms, covering around 4,000 hectares with 80 kaimahi and/or contractors supporting the farming operations. Applications are now invited from those who have proven ability to successfully lead the strategic business management of multiple Dairy and Dairy Support Units, and complimentary Drystock Units.  The Business Manager will take responsibility for providing strategic guidance to assigned farms through development of strategic business plans.  Driving farm profitability and performance that is best in class is the imperative, and will be undertaken by enabling and empowering our talented team of Farm Operators to fully understand the ‘why’ so individual and collective achievement is delivered to achieve excellence and provide profitable and positive strategic outcomes for our shareholders.

This position reports to the General Manager Ahuwhenua (Farms) and has direct business leadership responsibility for multiple farms that are currently operated through Employment, Contract Milking and Share milking structures and all based in Taranaki.

Applicants will have a minimum of five years’ experience in managing multiple farms and/or a large-scale farming operation and have well developed agri-sector skills and proven leadership capabilities. Those considering this position must also have genuine empathy towards supporting Māori aspirations for economic development with an understanding of Māori structures and tikanga. It is essential that candidates have an Agribusiness Degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
